Why give?
-
✽Family of Faith
Our family trusts in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He provides for us through our own hands, our friends & family, miraculously, and through his life-giving Spirit.
-
✽Following Christ
Our family repents of and turns away from disobedience to Yahweh. We stake our lives on the person of Christ and his acceptable sacrifice made on our behalf. We are disciples of Christ.
-
✽Mandated to Go
Messiah literally defeated death. He told us to go and make disciples, teaching them to obey His commands just as we do. As ‘sent’ ones, we have good news of this gospel of salvation through His sacrifice made on our behalf.
-
✽Living Sacrifices
In loosing our lives, we are saved. Just as we were baptized in water, we die to our own selves and live for God.
-
✽The Kingdom of God is Near
The place where Yahweh resides - the place where His will and desire are only all that is ever done - is increasingly busting into this place where we are.
-
✽Worthy of Glory
There is only one being entity who is actually worthy of being glorified, and it ain’t you or me. We worship Yahweh, and point others to do the same.
“Stuff is just stuff, it can always be replaced or you can do without. People cannot be replaced.”
Ron Crider
“Know what you believe and why you believe it.”
Kerry Crider
“We don’t own things. All things belong to Yahweh, and we just use them for a time, to His glory.”

My wife and I are on a journey. Yahweh has created us to be go-ers and do-ers, and so we are using our ways-of-being to declare the message of His salvation, advance His Kingdom, and serve others in His name.

We are Jessica and Jordan Crider, on mission for the Lord. We were joined in marriage and covenant with one another before God and man in January of 2025. Jessica grew up in Ohio, moved to Utah after high school, and currently works as a flight attendant. Jordan grew up in California, went to college in Oklahoma, served in the US Army National Guard during wartime, and bounced around the west as a bicycle mechanic and business builder. We currently live in New Bern, North Carolina and are expecting our firstborn child this year.

Everything in our lives is intertwined and connected. Jordan was born into a Christian family and started mountain biking as a pre-teen. He kept riding through college, studying at a Baptist University to become a missionary. Toward the end of college, he had an extramarital affair, divorced his then wife, lost his dad to acute pancreatitis, deployed to Iraq, moved back home to CA, was cut off from Yahweh because of sin in his life. He became spiritually lost.
Over the last two decades of darkness, God used my family, friends, His people, His word, His creation, and mountain biking to come pull me out of hopelessness and despair. He left the ninety-nine to find the one. I once was lost, but now I am found. To His glory.

We’ve left everything to follow Christ. Jordan left his home, his job, his family, and his ego, to be on mission. He still works on bicycles and adventures for the Lord. Jessica has left her home to serve others as a flight attendant, and is currently somewhere in the skies above us. We currently live in a one bedroom apartment and sleep on a mattress on the ground, yet we want for nothing. Yahweh continually meets all of our needs; the hairs on our heads are numbered and we are worth more than many sparrows.
Any money, goods, food, or stuff that we are given, is used along with the work of our hands for subsistence. And to go on mission adventures, exploring the created world around us and sharing the good news of His salvation with those whom we come into contact.
-
Jessica’s job brings in just enough for rent, food, and gas. However, she’s expecting, so that income will be reduced in the coming months. Jordan is actively looking for work, and also keeping busy with side projects of creative storytelling, service, and study. God provides, period.
We make use of our hands, the talents, skills, experiences, abilities, aptitudes, and knowledge that He has given us. The rest of what we need in life, we trust that he will continue to provide. He has often used our family and friends to bless and support us.

Well, we don’t trust in any earthly man, but in the One who was sent us, died for our transgressions, was miraculously raised from the dead, and now sits at the right hand of God.
We live, not by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. We seek to be good stewards of what He has given us, planting seeds, and sharing in the harvest. We forgive others because we’ve been forgiven. We bless others, just as we’ve been blessed.
If the Lord puts in on your heart to give to others, then give freely. If all you can give is a blessing, or offer prayers to intercede on our belhalf, or your chickens laid more eggs than your family can eat and you’d like to share those, then these things God also uses to provide for my family.
